4D-Signal — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 17 September 2026 · Applies to the 4D-Signal browser extension (v1.1)
The short version: 4D-Signal computes everything on your device. We do not receive, store, or see your behavioral signals. The only data that ever leaves your machine is something you explicitly switch on yourself — a team aggregate of counts and averages, with no personal signal streams.

1. What the extension processes

The extension measures interaction timing metadata on pages you visit: click cadence, scroll speed, dwell time, hesitation pauses, tab focus changes. This is processed locally, in real time, to produce your Friction Index (CFI).

2. What the extension never touches

3. What leaves your device

4. Storage

Your daily CFI history is stored in chrome.storage.local on your own device. It never syncs to our servers. You can clear it at any time from the extension popup.

5. Third parties

We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties for any purpose. License purchases are processed by Gumroad under their own privacy policy; we receive only the license key and purchase status needed to validate your Pro license.

6. Changes

If this policy changes, the change will be listed here with a new effective date before any new data practice begins. Data practices never expand silently.

7. Contact

Questions or deletion requests: use the contact link on the extension's store listing or the 4D-Signal documentation site.
